Production Plan

This production plan is to help us sort out all the things we need from now till we finish filming. The first thing we need to sort out is to finish our animatic of our storyboard.

The animatic would be done on imovie and we would need to put on song over it to portray how we want it to look.We have found the location we are going to shoot at and they are: in front of a church, at a bus-stop, in front of a gym centre, a dram room(club scene), a dance studio and a classroom.

We need take evidence of RECCE for the location we are going to be filming at because it will help us make sure that the lighting of the place is ok and and if the places are going to are ok when we decide to film. We also need to inform the cast and dancers in the music video when they are going to be needed so they are not preoccupied on the day we are going to film.

We won't be needing any props for the dancers in our music video, but we will be needing a turntable for the DJ to use.
We also need to inform the dancers that are going to be in the club scene to wear clothes they can dance in and something bright so we can see them in and also because that's the theme for our music video.

The last thing we need to do after we have sorted things out is to schedule the dates we will be filming on and how long we will be filming for so that everyone is involved and know what they are supposed to be doing.

We started to write a shot by shot in the sequence of how we want our music video to be. The purpose of writing a shot by shot was to then draw it on our storyboard to avoid imperfections. We had some difficulties in doing this task as neither myself or my partner are artistic, therefore, we struggled with the drawing part.

Due to our inability to draw properly, we wrote down what each shot should look like on the storyboard and we needed to match the shots with the lyrics. Neither of us had the song on any device which resulted in us having to print out the lyrics. This is a mistake that will not happen again because one -if not both- of us will have the song on some sort of device as we are planning so we can have a visual of what shot will be shown at a specific verse of the song.

Once our briefs were chosen and we had decided on what song to do, we needed to do a moodboard to show what our music video may consist of and give it house/dance music connotations. We had a brief idea of how we wanted our music video to look but we also knew that in the process of storyboarding, those brief ideas have have to change.

We wanted the moodboard to convey the dance/house feeling as that is what our video will consist of. We printed out the lyrics of our chosen song which made us able to show what shot would be shown when a particular verse was sung. We wanted to give the impression of a club feeling which is why we had strobe/bright lights as that would contrast nicely to the dark background we are planning to have.

The pictures of dancers, a DJ and party people are elements that we hope to have in our music video. We made sure to use bright colours to emphasize the fact that this is a colourful genre, which is why we used colourful paper and felt tip pens to begin with. Collectively, we decided to have a DJ on our moodboard not only because he is good looking, but because having the DJ in our music video will make it relate to the people more as he too wants to have a good time.

When we received our briefs, our primary task was to then get into groups that we would work best in. When deciding who to be part of we had to take into conseideration people that will contribute to the group and were hrad workers.

I decided to pair myself up with another member of my class. We chose to do the House/Dance genre as we came to the conclusion that it would be difficult to do a video for a girl group if it was to be just the two of us. As house/dance music is usually produced by an DJ we decided that our artist would be a DJ. After much deliberation, we decided on the name DJ Delirious as it just stood out and seemed to be a perfect fit. When the name was decided we then had to decide on what song to use that fits with our brief; the song we chose couldn't be too old or too recent.

In the end, we decided to do a song called Boogie 2nite by girl group Booty Luv. Before we could get that ball rolling we had the have our teachers approval before we went any further.
